Audi's EV journey kicked into high gear in 2019 when it launched the Audi e-tron, a fully electric midsize luxury crossover with upscale accommodations, practical range, and the automaker's signature executive styling. Audi's electrified roster has steadily expanded since, with each battery-powered model carrying the e-tron moniker. So, to avoid confusion with the rest of the e-tron brand, the e-tron midsize SUV will enter the 2024 model year as the Audi Q8 e-tron. Besides sporty styling reminiscent of its gas-powered Audi Q8 sibling, the 2024 Q8 e-tron will feature increased range, upgraded driving dynamics, and faster charging. Plus, 2024 Q8 e-tron customers will enjoy two years of complimentary DC fast charging on the Electrify America network.
2024 Audi Q8 e-tron: Performance, Range, and Charging
A pair of electric motors powers the 2024 Audi Q8 e-tron with a potent 355 horsepower and 414 pound-feet of torque. Audi's EV-specific quattro® AWD system is standard, providing enhanced handling and inclement-weather control. And selecting "Sport" mode momentarily boost output to 402 horsepower and 490 pound-feet of torque, allowing the Q8 e-tron to race from zero to 60 mph in an impressive ~5.3 seconds.
The 2024 Q8 e-tron receives a larger 106-kWh battery pack, enabling an estimated 300 miles of range. The SUV's charging rate has also increased from 150 to 170kW, bringing its DC fast-charging time down to ~31 minutes with compatible equipment. With a home-installed Level 2 (240-volt) charger, customers can expect estimated charge times ranging from 6.5 hours (at 19.2-kW) to 13 hours (at 9.6-kW).
2024 Audi Q8 e-tron Features and Tech
The 2024 Audi Q8 e-tron's cabin is classy, capacious, and filled with features, including standard amenities like a panoramic glass roof, four-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a hands-free liftgate. Premium Plus and Prestige trims also add three-stage ventilated front seats. A dual-touchscreen MMI system highlights the high-tech interior, with a 10.1-inch infotainment display and an 8.6-inch cabin control display with haptic feedback. Additionally, all models feature a fully digital Audi virtual cockpit gauge cluster.
